Gospel of Mark | The Dynamic Portrait of Jesus

The Gospel of Mark is the second gospel in the New Testament section of the Christian Bible. Although this is the second book, many scholars consider it to be the earliest written book of the books in the New Testament. The Gospel of Mark is classified into the Synoptic Gospels along with the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke.

Christian tradition attributes its writing to Mark, identified with Mark, companion of Paul and then of Peter, a character mentioned by the New Testament, especially the Acts of the Apostles and the epistles of Paul and Peter.

Its anteriority compared to the other two synoptics (Matthew and Luke) is accepted today by the historian consensus, just like its use by Matthew and Luke, of which it constitutes one of the two main sources.
