The Gospel of Luke is one of four writings that started the New Testament. The Gospel of Luke is classified as the Synoptic Gospels along with the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Mark. The compilation of Luke’s Gospel uses roughly the same material used in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark’s Gospel, but the resulting compositions are not exactly the same as the two Gospels.
