Short story about American Serial Killer Ted Bundy
Ted Bundy was born on November 24, 1946 in Vermont. He has become one of America’s best-known serial killers. After a difficult childhood, Ted Bundy never having known his father, he was raised by his grandparents whose grandfather is known as a violent and racist man. Eventually his mother, who was first introduced as his big sister, gets married and Ted Bundy moves to live with her and his stepfather.
The man is a brilliant student, he entered politics by becoming an assistant in the Republican Party in Washington state. So at law school, Ted Bundy ended up no longer attending classes. Ted Bundy will then tell different stories about his first homicides, the first of which were recorded in 1974, when he was 27 years old. He begins by attacking students in their bedrooms during the night. His first victim is found alive but with significant lesions, especially to the brain. Then six women disappear, all night long, and each time a man with his arm in a cast or in a sling nearby. This is Ted Bundy, driving a light brown or beige Volkswagen at the time.
Ted Bundy always attacks women, whom he kidnaps, before sexually assaulting them and then killing them. Some will manage to escape, however. On August 16, 1975, Ted Bundy was arrested after numerous reports, including those from his then girlfriend. He was sentenced to death three times, in two different states. The day before his execution, he confesses to his murders and confesses to others. A total of 37 victims could be associated with Ted Bundy, who was executed in the electric chair on January 24, 1989.
Evasion
Arrested, he escaped prison twice, including once in a spectacular fashion from Garfield Penitentiary in Colorado, on December 30, 1977. On January 10, 1978, Ted Bundy was placed on the list of the ten most wanted criminals by the FBI. On February 15, 1978, he was arrested – this time definitively – then, after having assured his defense himself (thanks to his law studies and the assistance of five lawyers), was found guilty of several murders and rapes, thanks in particular to to the testimony of Carol DaRonch, one of the rare survivors of his attacks, and especially to the teeth imprints he had left on the body of one of his last victims (on the buttocks), killed at the Chi Omega student residence in Tallahassee, Florida.
Carole Ann Boone believes Bundy innocent and defended him in court. They declare themselves married in 1979. She visits him in prison and she gives birth to a daughter, Rose, in October 1981. But after Bundy confesses her crimes, Carole divorces in 1986 and never wanted to speak to him again.

Modus operandi American Serial Killer Ted Bundy
His crime scenes were spread over large geographic areas (several states).
His preferred mode of killing his victims was attack with the help of a blunt object, then strangulation (quiet and easy to practice techniques). He avoided firearms for the noise they made but also for the marks they left (cartridge cases, traces of powders, etc).
He took care to find his victims on sites where kidnapping was easy and played on a sensitive chord by pretending to be disabled. He often grinned and changed his appearance in order to deceive potential witnesses. Bundy’s modus operandi has evolved over time: at first, he would enter the young girl’s house at night and violently attack her while she was sleeping. Sometimes he sexually assaulted his victim with objects of all kinds and left her unconscious or dead. Then he pulled his victim to him as he stood near his car. In many cases, he had a cast on his arm or leg. He then asked his victim to help him carry a package to his car. There he would knock her out, then rape her before killing her by strangling her with stockings and then disposing of the body in isolated areas and burning the clothes. He could take them home to kill and behead them or kill them directly at the primary crime scene (place of kidnapping).
For some, it happened to him to make up them, to shampoo them and to put on them new clothes which did not belong to them.
To attract his victims, he could pretend to be a policeman or a firefighter.
He happened to return to the place where he had left the body of his victim to have a necrophilic act with her.
Whether it was to kill or to carry out the kidnappings, Bundy admitted to having drunk heavily before taking action.
Prison and execution
While Bundy waited in prison for the execution of the death penalty, which his lawyers repeatedly delayed, he was sentenced to death again in another court case. On the 9th February 1980 Bundy and Carol Ann Boone used their joint presence at the trial of his last murder (of 12-year-old Kimberly Leach) to make a vows in court. Since it was concluded in the presence of a court, the marriage was valid. During his imprisonment, her daughter Rose, who was born in October 1982, was conceived. Shortly before an execution date scheduled for July 1986, his wife visited him with his daughter, but left Bundy the same year (just before the next execution date, which was postponed again) and did not come back[49] The fourth execution date was for the 17th January 1989 and was only postponed because Bundy was finally confessed. He told the police, among other things, where the bodies of Donna Manson and Georgann Hawkins could be found, which were considered missing since 1974. Then he tried to delay the execution again on the pretext of making further confessions. He also gave the evangelical psychologist James Dobson a television interview.
Bundy was born on the 24th January 1989 at 7:16 a.m. (EST) executed on the electric chair for triple murder in the Florida State Prison. Half an hour after his execution, a car with the body of Bundy left prison towards the crematorium. The vehicle was followed by a howling crowd.
Bundy’s ashes were scattered in the mountains of the cascade chain in the US state of Washington according to his wish.
